About me...

My Creative Journey

It all began in 2016, in the living room of my home — a space where I could pour my creative soul into my work. That’s where my passion became my outlet.

In 2017, I opened my first shop on Ellenborough Street in Ipswich, and Upcycled Treasure was born. With no formal plan, just a love for creating, I built a space that not only fueled my creativity but also inspired others to explore theirs. It quickly grew into a vibrant community of makers and dreamers. From that, The Studio emerged — a place for workshops, one-on-one classes, and a creative haven for women to express themselves.

After nearly two years, we moved into a larger space in Newtown. But like so many, COVID-19 changed everything. In early 2020, we had to close our doors and store everything away.

A few months later, in June 2020, a new opportunity appeared — a charming space on Queen Street in Harrisville. We jumped at it, reopening under a new name: Treasure on Queen. Despite navigating the challenges of the pandemic, the shop thrived for over two years and eventually expanded into a family venture with our ever-growing café, Viney’s Place.

Life, as it does, shifted again. After three wonderful years at 28 Queen Street, my husband and I decided to slow down and embrace a new chapter. He’s found his own career path, and I’ve carried forward my creative calling.

Although the shop is no longer, my journey continues with a booth at the Camp Hill Antique Centre — a little corner where my pieces still find new homes and stories.

With over a decade of experience, I’ve mastered the art of transforming discarded or forgotten furniture into something beautiful and full of soul. My work now graces homes across Australia.

Sustainability and creativity drive everything I do. I see potential where others see only waste — and that keeps my heart full and my hands busy.

I’m living my best creative, happy life.

#about us

Well hello… Samantha here — The Bespoke Artisan.

With over a decade of experience, I’ve developed a deep passion for transforming discarded or forgotten furniture and homewares, breathing new life into pieces that become part of your home and surroundings. Sustainability has always been at the heart of what I do, and my creativity allows me to see potential where others might only see waste.

Through careful refinishing and thoughtful repurposing, I create unique pieces that can live beautifully across a variety of spaces. I take a conscious approach to honouring the history of each item—because sometimes it doesn’t need paint, just a little care and attention to bring it back to life.

Every piece I work on has a story, and I’m passionate about continuing that story in a way that is both considered and enduring, championing thoughtful, sustainable design wherever I can.

Over the years, I’ve had three shopfronts and have been lucky enough to welcome hundreds of wonderful people into my workshops. Together we’ve learned how to use chalk paint, explored decoupage, created rusty finishes, repurposed treasured family heirlooms, and made beautiful pieces for the home. But more than that, it’s always been about the experience—catching up with friends, meeting new people, building connections, and simply having a bit of fun along the way.

After taking a two-year break, which included spending some time in our other business and taking the opportunity to really reflect on life and what’s important, I’ve had the chance to slow down a little. It’s been time well spent with family and friends, doing some travel, and being more present in this beautiful thing we call life.

’m now excited to have my shopfront based within the Camp Hill Antique Centre, surrounded by an amazing mix of artists, curators, quirky vintage finds, and beautiful antiques all under the one roof. At the same time, my home studio in Harrisville gives me the best of both worlds—a creative space where I can continue restoring, creating, and dreaming up new ideas.

I’m also really looking forward to bringing back creative workshops in the cooler Queensland months. Picture fresh air, lovely views, something delicious to nibble on, a good coffee or tea in hand… and maybe even a wine or a few bubbles. It’s all about getting creative, having a laugh, and enjoying the moment together.

About The Bespoke Artisan

I started my business from the loungeroom of my home back in 2016. From there I have been able to pour my creative soul into my work. My outlet.

I opened my first shop on Ellenborough Street in Ipswich in 2017 where ‘Upcycled Treasure’ became my baby. With no real ‘plan’, I was able to create a space to be creative and allow others to do to the same. From there, we were able to create a community which lead to the opening of ‘The Studio’ allowing me to hold creative workshops, 1 on 1 classes, and a space for other women to create.

After nearly 2 years, the business moved to a new, bigger space in Newtown where we remained until late February 2020. Our old friend COVID-19 forced us to close the doors, move everything into storage until around June 2020.

Due to things out of our control – we have now combined our businesses into one. And that took over my energy, life and all the rest of it that goes with a small business making all the things and trying to be all the things. Together, my husband and chose to rethink and redo. We elected to start fresh in life and here we are. I am back doing what I love…it never left me…I just took a little break
