My Creative Journey<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

It all began in 2016, in the living room of my home \u2014 a space where I could pour my creative soul into my work. That\u2019s where my passion became my outlet.<\/p>

In 2017, I opened my first shop on Ellenborough Street in Ipswich, and Upcycled Treasure was born. With no formal plan, just a love for creating, I built a space that not only fueled my creativity but also inspired others to explore theirs. It quickly grew into a vibrant community of makers and dreamers. From that, The Studio emerged \u2014 a place for workshops, one-on-one classes, and a creative haven for women to express themselves.<\/p>

After nearly two years, we moved into a larger space in Newtown. But like so many, COVID-19 changed everything. In early 2020, we had to close our doors and store everything away.<\/p>

A few months later, in June 2020, a new opportunity appeared \u2014 a charming space on Queen Street in Harrisville. We jumped at it, reopening under a new name: Treasure on Queen. Despite navigating the challenges of the pandemic, the shop thrived for over two years and eventually expanded into a family venture with our ever-growing caf\u00e9, Viney\u2019s Place.<\/p>

Life, as it does, shifted again. After three wonderful years at 28 Queen Street, my husband and I decided to slow down and embrace a new chapter. He\u2019s found his own career path, and I\u2019ve carried forward my creative calling.<\/p>

Although the shop is no longer, my journey continues with a booth at the Camp Hill Antique Centre \u2014 a little corner where my pieces still find new homes and stories.<\/p>

With over a decade of experience, I\u2019ve mastered the art of transforming discarded or forgotten furniture into something beautiful and full of soul. My work now graces homes across Australia.<\/p>

Sustainability and creativity drive everything I do. I see potential where others see only waste \u2014 and that keeps my heart full and my hands busy.<\/p>

With over a decade of experience, I\u2019ve developed a deep passion for transforming discarded or forgotten furniture and homewares, breathing new life into pieces that become part of your home and surroundings. Sustainability has always been at the heart of what I do, and my creativity allows me to see potential where others might only see waste.<\/p>

Through careful refinishing and thoughtful repurposing, I create unique pieces that can live beautifully across a variety of spaces. I take a conscious approach to honouring the history of each item\u2014because sometimes it doesn\u2019t need paint, just a little care and attention to bring it back to life.<\/p>

Every piece I work on has a story, and I\u2019m passionate about continuing that story in a way that is both considered and enduring, championing thoughtful, sustainable design wherever I can.<\/p>

Over the years, I\u2019ve had three shopfronts and have been lucky enough to welcome hundreds of wonderful people into my workshops. Together we\u2019ve learned how to use chalk paint, explored decoupage, created rusty finishes, repurposed treasured family heirlooms, and made beautiful pieces for the home. But more than that, it\u2019s always been about the experience\u2014catching up with friends, meeting new people, building connections, and simply having a bit of fun along the way.<\/p>

After taking a two-year break, which included spending some time in our other business and taking the opportunity to really reflect on life and what\u2019s important, I\u2019ve had the chance to slow down a little. It\u2019s been time well spent with family and friends, doing some travel, and being more present in this beautiful thing we call life.<\/p>

\u2019m now excited to have my shopfront based within the Camp Hill Antique Centre, surrounded by an amazing mix of artists, curators, quirky vintage finds, and beautiful antiques all under the one roof. At the same time, my home studio in Harrisville gives me the best of both worlds\u2014a creative space where I can continue restoring, creating, and dreaming up new ideas.<\/p>

I\u2019m also really looking forward to bringing back creative workshops in the cooler Queensland months. Picture fresh air, lovely views, something delicious to nibble on, a good coffee or tea in hand\u2026 and maybe even a wine or a few bubbles. It\u2019s all about getting creative, having a laugh, and enjoying the moment together.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

I started my business from the loungeroom of my home back in 2016. From there I have been able to pour my creative soul into my work. My outlet.<\/p>

Due to things out of our control – we have now combined our businesses into one. And that took over my energy, life and all the rest of it that goes with a small business making all the things and trying to be all the things. Together, my husband and chose to rethink and redo. We elected to start fresh in life and here we are. I am back doing what I love…it never left me…I just took a little break
